A very distinctive tall (up to 33 m) riverine Acacia tree, with powdery yellow bark. Spines in pairs, flowers are creamy white to yellow. Leaves are typical of Acacia in being twice compound leaflets. The pods are yellow-brown and often slightly curved. The bark is often used to bring down fevers and in treatment of sore throats.
