Back in Camp. Wow, its wet wet wet! 8hrs from Nairobi to Naboisho Camp, rivers in flood all over. Very green and very pretty at the moment, out exploring this afternoon, pictures to follow soon. Lions roaring last night, as always, and leopard tracks in camp. Watch this space... Regards, Roelof

Remember that conserving and protecting flagship species like lions, elephants, rhino... will also safegaurd the total habitat that they roam, in turn, providing protection and a future for all other species that share their habitat with them. Lions are under immense pressure and numbers are declining at an alarming rate. We need to do everything in our power to protect the few that remains today. Using new technology the project will investigate where the lions roam in relation to time, and thus be able to advice local Maasai people on how best to avoid situations where lio...

A tough football game yesterday on the Mara plains...Rekero/Naboisho United VS Mara Intrepid InvitationalMarch 25th, 2012 A combined team from Naboisho Camp and Rekero Camp (playing in red and white stripes) came head to head with a Mara Intrepid Invitational team (in orange). The heat was on from the starting whistle as players went full out for the ball and to win this heavely contested match. The game was tough and moved from one side to another, balanced on a knive point...but defence seemed to be unbreakable from both sides, ending in a nil, nil draw eventually. The heat in the Mara was unbearable, so much so that many replacements had to be used and many players lost due to injury on the hard surface of the Ol Kiombo Football Staduim, just 50 m from the busy runway... But we feel positive on the next match day, that our team will pull it through and hope that conditions underfoot would be much approved when the rainy season starts and that spectator numbers will also increase.

Rekero pride, along the Talek River - very close to Rekero Camp. Very special sighting as they were chased of a kill by 4 buffalo bulls.

Having a peaceful lunch at Rekero Camp with guests, the next moment ,2 Hyena's chasing a adult Topi across the plains on the other side of the Talek river: I thought, maybe they are desperate & very hungry as the chances of success for them will be slim, we watch them chasing the Topi around and around, until they disappeared. Back to our lovely lunch, what happens next... they push the Topi down the river bank, in full view of our lunch table...and killed it, and started to feed!! The picture was taken from the lunch table, as it happened so close the 2 hyenas left as we stood up from the table to have a better view. Have a look: http://www.asiliaafrica.com/rekero/ , Regards from Rekero - Roelof
