Matira

The Matira is located in the heart of the Maasai Mara, nestled in the middle of the African bush wilderness under shady trees on a small river bank, a few minutes’ drive to the wildebeest river crossing, where the Talek River meets the famous Mara River.

Matira Main Camp

Accommodation

Matira main camp has 10 spacious double or twin bedrooms tents all with en suite bathroom, hot water shower, sink unit and a flushing toilet. All the tents have private veranda leaving no wish for relaxation unfulfilled.

After an exciting game drive, shady areas will beckon you to linger and to share experiences.
When darkness falls, you will listen to the stories of the Maasai and the voices of the African night by the campfire.

Matira Bush Camp

Accommodation

Matira bush camps a mobile camp with 6 bush camp tents with comfortable double or twin beds. The mobile bush camp has no fixed plumbing and it uses bucket showers and eco toilets.

The camp has campfire to enable the guest to settle comfortably evening by campfire that exudes warmth and allows the magic of the African night with the sounds of the wilderness to become an experience.

Food

Matira camp offer full board with breakfast, lunch and dinner and international cuisine with a regional touch. All meals are freshly prepared by the camps chefs and served in the dining tent or under shady trees and open sky.
For whole day trips we offer bush breakfast and bush lunch.

Team & Guides

The familiar team is entirely composed of locally grown up experienced Maasai with a detailed knowledge of the environment and its flora and fauna.
